Wilmslow Railway Station
Wilmslow Railway Station is a Cheshire Best Kept Station.
Wilmslow Railway Station won the Roberts Bakery Award in 2007.
In 2007, the station's platform appearance was transformed by the the introduction of over twenty planters and flowers.
This work was supported by the Cheshire Year of Garden's Team at Visit Chester and Cheshire, the former Macclesfield Borough Council, Brookside Garden Centre, Wilmslow Rotary Club, local Chartered Accounants, Phibbs Edge and the Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnership.
On visiting the station Macclesfield Borough Council Mayor, Cllr Barry Burkhill, said: "This is a busy surburban railway station. There are now over twenty planters installed on the station. Both Northern Rail and the Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnership should be congratulated on brightening up the station for its customers and the local community".
