Poynton Railway Station

Poynton Railway Station is a Cheshire Best Kept Station.

Poynton Railway Station won the WW1 Commemoration Award for its fanatastic garden, Tommy on the Hill and its nostalgic waiting rooms.

Previous awards include:

             -  the Best Kept Gardens Award in 2013

             -  the top award and named Cheshire's Best Kept Station in 2007

This was thanks to Glynn, the dedicated Northern Rail Customer Services Officer, and station adopter Chris Halsall.

In 2007, Jamie Ross, Area Director, Northern Rail said: “We’re delighted that Poynton Railway Station has been recognised and won this top award.  It means our staff have been recognised too for the quality of service they provide to our customers".

Chris Halsall, said: “I am delighted to help my local station. It is the local gateway to Poynton and it is important we strive to make our stations more inviting”.
